Nature-based Art Therapy Resource
It has been my pleasure to support Briony Tronson of Seedpod Creative Arts Studio in this project. Briony has great vision and leadership and we’ve had a lot of fun bringing this project to life. Tree-planting
I am the convenor of a ‘friend-of’ group; planting trees and taking care of a local green space. A relative newbie to the group, I constantly admire the 20 years of volunteer work that came before.
It is my hope to create a therapeutic tree-planting group, where we make a contribution to local parklands and really inhabit ways to care for the Earth as it cares for us.
Practice Management
Inside this River is a group therapy space, which I established at the end of 2020. It was a steep learning curve mid-pandemic, but a project that has been deeply rewarding.
The name doesn’t immediately make sense, and has been something of a ‘trip hazard’ in terms of marketing. But it is named for the Rumi poem (below), and arose from me memorising and reciting this poem as a lockdown-survival meditation. It is a poem one can travel with for a long time. I strongly recommend finding such a poem to accompany your life.
Ancestry projects
There is probably a predictable stage of life when one turns to the old photo albums and reflects on who came before.
I have been inspired by the work of Dr Daniel Foor at Ancestral Medicine (and so many others with similar reminders) that we all have lineage back to earth-honoring and ancestor-honoring cultures.
Therapeutically, I am curious about how we might connect more deeply with our lineages (personal or cultural) as one way to call on wisdom about the natural world and our place within a vast landscape of interconnection.
